Video chat

Video chatting on the web has become more and more popular. I know i got my mom and webcam so we would be able to talk and see each other when im at college. This would also be useful if i move out of iowa, but i would still be able to see my family. This could also helpful in the classroom. Lets say you want to have an author come in but, that would cost too much. You could possibly have them talk to your classroom via video chat. Now there are a couple of different ways you can do a video chat. The way i do it is through Skype or you can also do it through MSN messenger im sure there are more ways but theres a couple of them. You could even talk to different kids from all around the world from your own classroom. Doing this, the kids would be able to learn about different cultures.

Digital Camera

Another technological item you could use in your classroom is digital cameras. You can use these in your classroom from about 2nd grade and up. When you are teaching about trees and the outdoors, you could have them take pictures of what you learned about. Even though some people may say arent they too young to be using expensive equipment.... well they are quite a bit less expensive than what they used to be and if you teach the kids the correct way to use them and if they know if they break it then the whole class wont be able to use them, then they may hold each other accountable for the cameras. This would make learning more fun and bring it right to them.

Promethean Board

Ahh glorias promethean boards. This could change teaching in a some what big way. Promethean boards are basically a white board on steroids. So pretty much u have this board and there is a image projected on it. You can then drag things using a pen like object. You can also go online with it and see things in 3D. This will make learning so much more fun for the kids and it may make things easier to understand.
